Overview

Cobb EMC is looking for a skilled, service-minded Facilities Maintenance HVAC Technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot corporate facilities. In this hands-on role, you will help keep critical building systems operating properly while supporting employees, contractors, and customers with responsive, professional service. 

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4-10 hour shifts week 6am-5pm.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

 

HVAC and Ice Making Equipment Maintenance

  • Install and maintain HVAC/refrigeration systems, ductwork, and control systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per established schedule on equipment including package heat pumps and air conditioners, gas-/oil-fired furnaces, gas-fired infra-red heaters, gas-fired air make up units, electric space heaters and air handlers, rooftop and wall-mounted building exhaust fans and controls, and ice making equipment.
  • Create work orders, enter data, and close out as completed.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork.
  • Recover all refrigerants as required, submit and/or maintain records on new and recovered refrigerant usage per EPA regulations.

Corporate Facilities Maintenance Problems

  • Resolve employee complaints through approved methodologies.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with co-employees, subcontractors and customers.
  • Adjust and repair equipment using approved methods and devices.
  • Report complaints that cannot be immediately resolved to Facilities Infrastructure Technologist.
  • Diagnose and Repair Corporate HVAC, refrigeration systems and low voltage systems.
  • Monitor systems for proper operation within design or set point limits using system software.

Other Maintenance, Repair, and Installation Duties

  • Perform light building construction and repair.
  • Perform light plumbing construction and repair.
  • Ensure repairs are made on portable electrical equipment including buffers and vacuum cleaners.
  • Help maintain building exteriors and grounds, as directed.
  • Perform metal and carpentry fabrications, as directed.
  • Install or service Access Control, CCTV, and fire and burglar alarm systems, as directed
  • Complete or assist repairs and additions to facility electrical systems, as directed.
  • Perform lighting system repairs and additions, as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

High School or equivalent.

Minimum three years’ experience in commercial HVAC  service and/or installation work.

Possess a current Universal type refrigerant handling certification satisfying EPA regulations.

Working knowledge of refrigeration/HVAC theory.

SKILLS:

Ability to reason analytically. Ability to proficiently read and interpret electric schematics.

Ability to read wiring color codes.

Ability to diagnose and repair typical split and package commercial Carrier and Trane units up to 30 tons.

Possess valid Georgia driver’s license.

PREFERRED:

Previous utility industry experience.

Variable Air Volume (VAV) System Certification or Variable Volume Temperature (VVT) System Certification. Completion of vocational/technical school courses in HVAC systems.

Commercial HVAC zoned direct digital control system experience.

Johnson Controls Metasys and/or FX installation/service experience.

Metal fabrication experience.

Low voltage control installation/service experience.

Ice machine/low temperature refrigeration equipment service and repair experience with Trane and/or Carrier chiller experience

Posess state of Georgia Class 2 unrestricted conditioned air license
